This 12-session course is an introduction to Spanish grammar, vocabulary, and common idioms. Since this is a beginner course, there is no prior knowledge of Spanish needed to take this class. For those who want to brush up on some bases, it's also a great review of the basics. I will use slides to present the material, and have the students word it correctly, one at a time. This is an accelerated course, so students should review the material in between sessions to keep up. However, I try my best to make it a fun and interactive experience, because I know it's easier to learn that way. These sessions will cover the following: Week 1: 1. Feminine vs Masculine Nouns & Articles (Indefinite & Definite) 2. Plural form of nouns, Adjectives, Colors. Week 2: 1. The verb form "hay" 2. Subject pronouns Week 3 1. To be: ser & estar 2. Uses of ser, Uses of estar Week 4: 1. Tener & expressions with tener 2. The personal "a", contractions Week 5: 1. Direct Object Pronouns & Indirect Object Pronouns 2. Negation & Questions Week 6: 1. The verb "gustar" 2. Recap and games

In this class, students will learn about Spanish grammar and vocabulary to improve their reading, listening and speaking skills in Spanish.

Hi! My name is Alice, and I teach French and Spanish.
I was born in Paris and moved to California as a teenager. My passion is learning about different cultures and languages.
With a BA in Anthropology from UC Berkeley, I have worked as a French and Spanish teacher. Throughout my life, I also worked and lived with Spanish speakers. My travels have repeatedly taken me to Spain, Peru and Ecuador; along with 7 years of classes, I achieved complete fluency in the Spanish language.
I love sharing my passion for language and culture, and seeing my students learn is the biggest reward.
My belief is that we learn best when we have fun, so I while I am serious about lesson plans, I try to make it the best experience possible.
