Each student will be asked to speak words or sentences in French for proper pronunciation.Class Experience
This is a weekly class in which we will cover different vocabulary themes in French. It is designed for beginners, so students don't need to have any prior knowledge of French. Although each week will feature a different theme that students can use as building blocks towards learning the French language, it is an ongoing class; meaning that students can drop in and out. Each week, as we go through a vocabulary theme, students will be able to follow even if they haven't done the previous week's course. I teach using slides that I share as we go through class. Those lessons will be scheduled as follows: Week 1 [01/04/2024]: Numbers, how to tell time & Dates Week 2 [01/11/2024]: Verb être (to be) + adjectives Week 3 [01/18/2024]: Verb avoir (to have) + feelings/emotions Week 4 [01/25/2024]: Verb aller (to go) + places Week 5 [01/04/2024]: How to introduce ourselves, greetings Week 6 [02/01/2024]: Around the house: objects & furniture Week 7 [02/08/2024]: Sports & Hobbies Week 8 [02/15/2024]: How to talk about the weather Week 9 [02/22/2024]: Animals & Colors Week 10 [02/29/2024]: Food: Likes & Dislikes Week 11 [03/07/2024]: Verb faire (to do/to make) + expressions with faire Week 12 [03/21/2024]: The Body & Clothes Week 13 [03/28/2024]: Family, relatives & friends Week 14 [04/04/2024]: France, food & culture Week 15 [04/11/2024]: Months, seasons & holidays

Hi! My name is Alice, and I teach French and Spanish.
I was born in Paris and moved to California as a teenager. My passion is learning about different cultures and languages.
With a BA in Anthropology from UC Berkeley, I have worked as a French and Spanish teacher. Throughout my life, I also worked and lived with Spanish speakers. My travels have repeatedly taken me to Spain, Peru and Ecuador; along with 7 years of classes, I achieved complete fluency in the Spanish language.
I love sharing my passion for language and culture, and seeing my students learn is the biggest reward.
My belief is that we learn best when we have fun, so I while I am serious about lesson plans, I try to make it the best experience possible.
I have also founded a small business making and distributing my own natural beauty products. My passions include art, music, deejaying, cuisine and gardening as well.Reviews
