Description
Class Experience
Students will understand that writing a summary begins with an introductory sentence that states the text's title, author and main point of the text as they see it. Students will be taught that a summary is written in their own words and only contains only the ideas of the original text.
As an educator, I've always encouraged reading within my classroom and watching the excitement, confidence, and learning success that always takes place when students find books that suit their interests. This course has many opportunities to extend as summaries can be created within anything that is read.
There will not be any additional homework given for this course, however, students are always encouraged to summarize anything they read as they take part in reading throughout their week. This can be done either on paper or out loud.
Paper and pencil will be needed for each class session. If there are specific materials needed, a pdf will be provided prior to the class session.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
