Waves & Stones : Waldorf Kindergarten Finger Play, Rhyme and Song Circle Time

Welcome to Waves and Stones Kindergarten circle time in the Waldorf Steiner style.  In this ongoing class, children will learn rhymes, and use their hands in finger play stories, while developing skills needed to begin learning in the classroom.  We build language through rhyme and patterns, strengthen fingers and hands for writing through finger play, and sing to build vocabulary...all the while being in a small, supported group for nourishing social development.

I have designed this class to be an interactive Waldorf circle time, allowing children from different areas to experience the Waldorf approach to learning.  This class will incorporate songs and rhymes about the seasons and animals, include imaginative story telling and poetry and embrace a child's natural instinct for movement.  As per the Waldorf Steiner approach, this class will work through repetition and strengthen memory recall.  

Class content does not build on one another so anyone is free to join anytime.

Week 1: summer stories, rhymes and finger play about insects and numbers
Week 2: summer stories, rhymes and finger play about fairies and songs about numbers
Week 3: summer stories, rhymes and finger play about the sea and songs about numbers
Week 4: autumn stories, rhymes and finger play about friends and songs

As this class does involve moving around, please ensure a safe space is provided to the child participating so they can move safely and free from objects which might fall.
