Students will get introduced to different robots and learn how to code using an online tool. Robots include: LEGO Boost, BB-8, Dash and Sphero and Blue Bot. Students will learn how to program using the following tools: Code.org. I will monitor and help students with planning and solving coding puzzles as needed. Robots are not required, but students are encourage to build at home using building blocks (Bristle blocks, gears or any other blocks available). Schedule: Day 1 - Introduction to Coding and Robotics - LEGO Robotos - Code with Code.org Day 2 - Introduction to BB-8 - Code with Code.org Day 3 - Introduction to Blue Bot - Code with Code.org Day 4 - Introduction to Dash - Code with Code.org Day 5 - Introduction to Sphero Mini - Code with Code.org Students will need a computer or laptop for coding. Code.org is a free websites available on all devices. It is beneficial to connect to class using a different device in order to view teacher's screen while coding.

Hello! My name is Cynthia Burleigh. I live in Texas. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor in Science in Information Systems. I started my career in a banking institute, but quickly realized I wanted to become a teacher. I have been working in education for 15 years, 3 years teaching with Outschool. I am Bilingual Certified - speak English and Spanish and teach Bilingual and ESL students. My teaching experience includes: Robotics, Codings, Spanish, Pre K - 3rd grade Bilingual instruction, Bilingual Reading Specialist, and STEM teacher.
I love to teach Reading, Math, Spanish, Technology and STEM (including robotics). I love spending time with family, teaching, and running. A little fun fact about me...I run marathons for fun! I can't wait to see you in class.Reviews
