US Grade 9 - 12
High school is a pivotal phase in a student's life where they transition into society, explore first jobs, and adapt to social norms. The ability to communicate clearly in a variety of opportunities is vital. However, societal pressures sometimes lead teens to focus on less important aspects, potentially neglecting what truly shapes their futures. Many teenagers lack the life experiences necessary to open doors of opportunity and experience essential life lessons. Nevertheless, it's often the tough lessons that mold teens into exceptional leaders, enthusiastic workers, effective managers, and successful entrepreneurs. My coaching is designed to: ♦ identify strengths and weaknesses of each student ♦ meet students where they are and provide actionable next steps ♦ teach students to work independently ♦ develop a series of both soft skills and hard skills Most of my learners are looking for veterinary/animal careers. That said, I spend a lot of time focusing on transferrable skillsets. Lives change quickly. Mastering skills useful in all careers, entrepreneurial ventures, and lifestyle changes is important. The Curriculum: ♦ welcomes all teens ♦ customized for each semester of a high school career ♦ adapted for each student ♦ builds week to week ♦ requires students to practice for mastery ♦ uses a workbook that will be provided to you and printable ♦ focuses on growth, and that looks different on everyone ♦ utilizes live meetings once per week ♦ focuses on celebrating strengths and strengthening weaknesses ♦♦♦ If you are an ESL learner, please let me know. We can take time to focus on vocabulary and understanding, but this is not for brand new English speakers.♦♦♦ Our live class times will be a mixture of discussion, lesson, review & reflection, and skill development. There is some work to complete outside of the live class meetings. I am here to help your teen learn life balance, get back on track, stay on track, or develop a new track, and reach their end goals. But more importantly, I'm here to offer you practical results that impact your day-to-day life. Instructions are in the welcome message, but learners and parents, I encourage you to please reach out to me before enrolling or after enrolling and we will work together for the success of your child. Subject Matter Spread Between Semesters Customized to Each Learner: ► Guided Mindset Structuring & Priorities ► Technological Skills for the Veterinary Workplace ► Interpersonal Communications ► Time Management ► Emergency Compassion ► Leadership & Productivity ► Getting into College/University/Professional Schools like Vet School ► Critical Thinking ► Entrepreneurship & Organizational Skills ► Communication ► Diversity and Inclusion ► Emotion, Anxiety, and Anger Management ► 1-2 Animal-Direct Topics per Semester ► Entrepreneurship Skills & Business Plans ► Staying Safe & Productive in Online Marketing & Social Media ► Resumes, Cover Letters, and Interview Success ► Recognizing Opportunities ► School - Workplace Transitions ► Self Care ►►► And more! ** Please note that while we're happy to discuss animals extensively, our coaching is designed to complement veterinary courses and does not involve diagnosing or treating pets, per US Federal Law and Outschool Class Content Policy. I will always recommend visiting the veterinarian that knows your pet.**
Learning Goals
Default goal: I help students obtain the skillsets needed to not only apply for, get accepted, and complete the veterinary education, I help students become a successful vet with the skillsets to maximize their revenue and happiness in the field.
The student and family unit creates the child's ultimate goal. Each student may create their own endgame goal as these skills are transferrable amongst professional schooling. Some students choose to not attend professional university and become an entrepreneur.
