Homework
2-4 hours per week. Day 1: Identifying and Solving Problems. -Interview 2-3 friends or family members to identify problems they face. -Document insights in their pitch deck: Add a slide on "Problems and Solutions." Day 2: Understanding Your Customer -Create 3-5 customer survey questions. -Document findings and add a slide on "Ideal Customer Profile" to their pitch deck. Day 3: Validating Your Business Idea -Conduct mini-interviews or gather survey responses from 2-3 people. -Summarize results and update the pitch deck with: A slide for market research (e.g., survey insights), A slide estimating TAM, SAM, and SOM. Day 4: Creating a Business Action Plan -Calculate the cost of producing one product or service using a budget template. -Write a step-by-step plan to achieve one SMART goal. Add slides to the pitch deck for: Startup costs, Unit costs and pricing, SMART goals Day 5: Pitch Like a Pro & Sell -Record a video of their pitch to share with family or friends. -Review their pitch deck.
Certificate of Completion
We will celebrate students' completing camp with a digital certification noting their successful accomplishment.

genCEO Camp: Turn Your Ideas Into a Business

Class Experience
Are you ready to transform your big ideas into a thriving business? At genCEO Camp, teens will learn the essential skills of entrepreneurship in a fun, interactive, and action-packed program designed to build confidence and creativity. Over five days, learners will explore the exciting world of entrepreneurship, identifying problems, creating solutions, understanding their customers, managing finances, and mastering the art of the pitch. This camp is designed to provide hands-on learning, real-world skills, and plenty of opportunities to interact, collaborate, and grow.

How is the Class Structured?
This 5-day camp includes daily 60-minute sessions that combine interactive teaching, group collaboration, and practical exercises. Each session will include:
- A warm-up activity or icebreaker to set the tone.
- Engaging lessons with real-world examples and slides to explain key concepts.
- Hands-on activities, such as brainstorming, creating customer profiles, and budgeting.
- Small group work or breakout discussions to practice skills and collaborate with peers.
- Time for Q&A and feedback, so every learner feels supported.

How Will You Teach?
My teaching style is highly interactive, empowering, and fun. I combine short, focused lectures with group discussions, collaborative activities, and individual reflection. Expect engaging visuals, relatable examples, and lots of opportunities to apply what you learn in real time.

Each lesson builds on the last, ensuring learners walk away with practical skills and a complete business idea by the end of the week. I create a welcoming environment where all ideas are celebrated, and every student is encouraged to contribute.

Use the “Passion to Profit” worksheet to connect hobbies with business opportunities.

Understanding Your Customer
 Topics Covered:
Defining your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP): Who will buy your product or service?
The difference between B2B (Business-to-Business) and B2C (Business-to-Consumer).
How to create detailed customer personas.
Activities:
Develop a customer persona for your business idea.
Brainstorm and share questions to ask your target customer.

Validating Your Business Idea
 Topics Covered:
Why validation is important: Ensuring your idea solves a real problem.
Gathering feedback through interviews, surveys, and online research.
Market size concepts: TAM (Total Addressable Market), SAM (Serviceable Available Market), SOM (Serviceable Obtainable Market).
Activities:
Conduct mini-interviews with peers or family to gather feedback.
Estimate your market size and discuss how it impacts revenue potential.

Creating a Business Action Plan
 Topics Covered:
What is a business action plan, and why is it important?
Setting SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound).
Basics of business finances:
Startup costs: What do you need to launch your business?
Unit costs: How much does one product or service cost to create?
Revenue and pricing: How to set prices to ensure profitability.
Exploring funding options (personal savings, small investments, grants).
Activities:
Write 3 SMART goals for your business.

Learners will need:

Passion to Profit Workbook (provided by instructor): A step-by-step guide to help students identify their passions, match them to market needs, and turn their ideas into business opportunities. This will be provided as a downloadable PDF.
Business Model Canvas Template: A visual tool to map out the key components of their business, including value propositions, customer segments, and revenue streams. This template will also be provided as a downloadable PDF.

Additionally, learners should have the following basic supplies:
-A notebook or paper for brainstorming and note-taking.
-A pen or pencil.
-Access to a computer or tablet with internet for research and pitch deck creation (using tools like Google Slides or Canva).

As the Camp Director and Curriculum Designer of the Future CEO Summer Camp, I’ve taught over 200 students how to turn their business ideas into reality. In my day-to-day work at a venture studio, I help founders transform innovative ideas into scalable businesses, and I’ve led pitch competitions across industries to give entrepreneurs the tools they need to succeed. My teaching style is approachable, engaging, and focused on equipping students with practical skills.
