Assignments
1 hour per week. No grades will be given. Students will set goals and make decisions regarding their bake sale throughout the course. In addition, students are encouraged to practice baking outside of class.

🍪OVERVIEW

In this 4-class course, budding entrepreneurs will turn their passion for baking into profit.   This fun and interactive class introduces kids to the exciting world of entrepreneurship through a hands-on bake sale project! Your child will learn essential skills like planning, budgeting, marketing, and customer service in a way that’s easy to understand and enjoyable. Using their creativity and what they learn in class, they’ll design their very own bake sale from start to finish.  

Not only will this class spark a love for business, but it will also boost your child’s confidence, encourage teamwork, and strengthen their social skills. Plus, the lessons they learn and the memories they create will stick with them long after the class is over. It’s a wonderful way to help your child grow and shine!

🍪🍪🍪 PLEASE NOTE:  This is NOT a cooking class. This is a business class that focuses on teaching students how to plan and run a successful bake sale.  NO instruction on how to actually bake will be discussed during class.  HOWEVER students will be encouraged to practice their baking skills outside of class.  They are welcome to bring anything they bake at home to class.


🍪Class #1: Main Ingredients – Starting a Business

- Students will understand the basics of starting a business, including key considerations as an entrepreneur. They will consider a name for their bake sale, decide if they will run it solo or enlist help, and set a profit goal.

🍪Class #2:  Recipe for Success – Marketing Your Bake Sale 

-Students will learn about marketing, including understanding their target audience, place, promotion, brand identity, and product offerings.


🍪Class #3: "Rolling in the Dough - Money, Budgeting, & Finance" 

-Students will gain an understanding of money management, including budgeting, startup costs, profit, income, and expenses.

🍪Class #4: Ready, Set, Bake! – Opening Day Preparation, Customer Service, and Reflection

-Students will prepare for the bake sale, practice customer service skills, and reflect on their experience.


🍪MY TEACHING STYLE
-I like to tease the imagination of students by presenting information in unique and unconventional ways.  Specifically, I incorporate elements of play, discovery, and adventure into my classes.
-My classes are structured to allow for student interaction.  I also encourage students to interact with each other.
-My teaching methods are very deliberate and intentional.  To capture the attention of my students, I design eye-catching and vibrant slide show presentations.
-My goal is to create captivating and unique learning experiences.

-I am extremely attentive to students while teaching.  I provide friendly and timely communication and feedback to both parents and students.

🍪ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
-This class will appeal to learners who are interested in baking, business, and entrepreneurship.
-Previous baking experience is helpful.  Please note - NO instruction on how to actually bake will be discussed in this class.  This class focuses solely on how to plan and run a successful bake sale  
-No previous business knowledge is required.
-It is helpful if students possess a basic knowledge of adding, subtracting, division, and multiplication.
-Learners should bring a calculator, notebook, and pen/pencil to class.
-Tips & reminders will be posted in the classroom posts during class.

I am passionate, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable about entrepreneurship, business, and interior design. I offer engaging and relevant classes that cater to these learning interests. 

I received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Nonprofit Administration from John Carroll University. The skills and knowledge I gained have contributed favorably to my entrepreneurial and teaching endeavors. 

Currently, I own an interior design business that I have been operating since 2015. To date, I have designed over 100 spaces. As a business owner, I have learned to overcome obstacles, take risks, and utilize creativity. Consequently, I have gained a wealth of knowledge relating to entrepreneurship, business, and interior design. My real-world experiences prepared me to teach business concepts in a practical yet meaningful way.

On a personal note, I am a homeschool mom of 10 years to two amazing daughters. I recently became a dog mom to an adorable Yorkie Poo named Dallas. When I am not eating potato chips, I enjoy drinking smoothies, spending time in nature, traveling, reading, and playing chess.
