US Grade 2 - 6
Hello, I'm so glad you found one of my classes! The focus of our first class together will be developing a positive student-teacher-parent relationship. This includes identifying student interests, strengths, and areas of growth. Following the first session, if all parties agree this is a partnership we want to continue, then the parent will send their child's IEP goal(s) that will be supported. Please remove all personal information before sending the goal. During the second session, assessments will be administered to identify your child's reading level. This information will be used to develop lessons based on student performance. Direct instruction will begin during the third session (scheduled one week after assessment). This is because it takes time to develop individual lessons for your child. Materials will be provided to parents so they can review the content from each lesson. Additional practice materials will also be provided for students to continue learning when they are not in a meeting. Communication will occur during live class sessions and sending messages through Outschool. The fee for this class is based on live instructional time, additional practice opportunities after class, teacher experience and trainings, as well as time spent preparing specific lessons and materials for your child. Why choose Mrs. Swanson? I have a passion for teaching all students. I work to make every child feel important, safe, and comfortable. I’m compassionate and fun, but also firm when needed. This approach helps all student’s grow. In addition to learning and growing at each child’s individual pace, I apply my various levels of experience to give learner’s the best education possible. During lessons, I change my approach if needed. I also monitor student’s progress over the course of our time together to make sure optimal growth is happening. If you’re unsure as to whether I’m the best fit for your family, please do not hesitate to reach out. I offer a free 15-minute consultation through my personal business.
