Does your learner like to solve fun mysteries? Well, let them put on their detective hat and get to work using their upper elementary math skills! Mini Math Mysteries are a fun 'game-like' activity to practice different math skills. They follow a simple elimination structure where learners will be using the answers to the math questions to eliminate possibilities. This listing is for a private, ongoing class that meets once per week.

At the beginning of each class, the learner will hear a short story to preface the mystery they will be solving for the day. Then, it is time for our math detective to get to work! The learner will answer a variety of questions based on different math content (multiplication, division, addition, subtraction, place value, rounding, telling time, missing addends, etc.) to solve the mystery. They will first solve the math questions, and then they will look for their answers in the boxes on the screen and eliminate the boxes with a matching answer. After answering all questions, only one image will remain (that image will contain a number that didn't match any of the answers to the questions) and that box is the solution to our mystery! 

We will work on one to two mysteries per session depending on how quickly we are able to finish one mystery. I will be ready to have a short lesson to teach the learner, if needed, to help review the rules of the concept(s) we are focusing on for the day. -Adding Three Addends (Single, Double, and Triple-Digit Numbers)
-Missing Addends to 100 (Questions and Word Problems)
-Read & Write time (5 Minute Intervals)
-Multiplication Facts (1-12)
-Fraction Models (Write the fraction to show the shaded parts)
-Area Measurement: Counting Unit Squares
-Division Facts (1-12)
-Read & Interpret A Line Graph
-Place Value Hundreds, Tens & Ones (Expanded Form, Value of underlined digit)
-Rounding to the nearest 10 or 100
-Number Patterns (Missing Number & Input/Output Tables)
-Multiplication & Division Facts (1-12) Mix
-Read and Write Time (15 minute intervals)
-Comparing Numbers (up to 1,000)
-Multiplying by 2s and 10s
-Converting from Expanded Form (Hundreds, Tens & Ones)
-Multiplying by 5s
-Dividing by 2
-Writing the Fraction Represented by the Shaded Fraction Models
