課堂經歷

美國等級 6 - 9
In this class students will learn about the brief history of the study of archaeology and the lasting contributions that women have made that made the discipline what it is today. In this class students will learn about the lives and contributions of 9 women that set the bar for archaeological research including: Harriet Boyd Hawes, Gertrude Caton-Thomson, Anna O. Shepherd, Kathleen Kenyon, Tatiana Proskouriakoff, Dorothy Garrod, and Mary Leakey. And we will, most notably, look at the remarkable and inspiring story of Elizabeth Warder Crozer Campbell and the many challenges she overcame and the invaluable contributions she made to our understanding of early man in the southern California deserts.
I am a professional archaeologist for over 20 years that has worked at sites throughout the United States and the world. I am currently the tribal archaeologist for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. I also teach archaeology/anthropology classes at Sitting Bull College and am a historic interpretive guide at On-A-Slant Mandan Indian Village at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park in Mandan, North Dakota. I have been engaged in teaching youth about the science of archaeology since AD 2000.
