This book will teach themes and symbols through a story about two children that adventure in an imaginary land of Terabithia. Through this book, I will teach children how to read between the lines and connect to a story. There are many lessons to be learned from Bridge to Terabithia. Students will learn how to think at a higher-level and read in between the lines of a story. We will work on reading comprehension, specifically focusing on themes and symbols. We also will make connections to us, the world, and other text.

Bridge to Terabithia is a book about two children that make up this imaginary world. There is a tragedy that takes place in this book that you may be sensitive to your child reading about, but I walk them through and discuss specific points with my learners to cope with tragedy.
