The Bloody History Series is a course of history classes where each week students will learn about the rise of a different warrior-like people during a certain period of time. We'll examine their unique outlook on life and customs along with the innovations that created their rapid success. We'll also speculate on what could have led to their swift downfall. Every day students will have a new handout to fill out during class. At the beginning of class students will compete on two teams using their notes. They will compete in a quiz to see WHO HAS LEARNED THEIR BLOODY HISTORY. My desire is to hook learners on history, by presenting captivating people and relay how artifacts from the past present us with stories about lives from long ago. As a college rhetoric professor I've found that students will learn very challenging material if they are able to present to me what they already know and either challenge or build upon that knowledge. Moreover, I frame learning about history by teaching students how to become mini-academics and look at artifacts using some of the very basic skills an archeologist would use. Students will become active learners as they attempt to use these skills to figure out why these successful and unique societies suddenly vanished. 리뷰
