I am happy to give you an assessment of your learners writing strengths and weaknesses or contact you if I see any significant writing issues in your learners work.채점
Students are keenly aware of their peer's reactions to their work. They know when everyone is listening breathlessly. They know when everyone is excited about their writing. Positive reinforcement for strong writing from the group encourages students to write at a more challenging level.보고계신 지문은 자동 번역 되었습니다
수업 소개
영어레벨 - B2+
미국 8학년 - 10학년 학년
레벨 Beginner
Students will revel in this week long class of amazing, inventive adventure stories. Whether you decide to write about a heroine who silently screams as she uncovers the secrets of a decaying crypt or the heir of a cursed treasure found in a city on another world, you'll revel in gory fun writing stories full of mayhem and heroism. Follow up with any "City Of" workshops taught by Leeyanne Moore. They can be taken in any order. Try City of Monsters next! FOR PARENTS: We will start by creating a map of our new world together so students can visualize the story setting before they dive into writing. Next we'll brainstorm characters to populate our individual parts of the city. In every workshop class we start with brainstorming exercises, then students write fiction for twenty minutes. Afterwards, anyone can volunteer to read out loud. Everyone in the workshop will say what they like about the story and/or recall details they remember about the writing. Because students haven't had a chance to edit their work, we avoid criticism in this first draft round. The class is so much fun students won’t even realize they are learning to create sustained works of fiction at a more sophisticated level of thought, organization, and writing skill level than ever before. They will start to develop their characters, themes, and plots at lightning speed as our adventures build. Many students have so much fun they are eager to keep writing even after the workshop is over. In addition to fun using narrative writing skills, this one week camp conforms to the narrative CCC Standards for 9th and 10th grade ELA learners. One week participation in this class meets the common core standards for the following: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.9-10.3 Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective technique, well-chosen details, and well-structured event sequences. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.9-10.3.A Engage and orient the reader by setting out a problem, situation, or observation, establishing one or multiple point(s) of view, and introducing a narrator and/or characters; create a smooth progression of experiences or events. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.9-10.3.B Use narrative techniques, such as dialogue, pacing, description, reflection, and multiple plot lines, to develop experiences, events, and/or characters. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.9-10.3.C Use a variety of techniques to sequence events so that they build on one another to create a coherent whole. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.9-10.3.D Use precise words and phrases, telling details, and sensory language to convey a vivid picture of the experiences, events, setting, and/or characters. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.9-10.3.E Provide a conclusion that follows from and reflects on what is experienced, observed, or resolved over the course of the narrative.

그 외 세부 사항
학습 요구
Students on the mild end of ADHD and ASD who are highly creative have done well in the class in the past. The structure is always the same from workshop to workshop. Writing time is 20 min. Sometimes a 1:1 structure works even better.
학부모 가이드
None.
사전 요구 사항
Learners should be able to listen respectfully to others, be compliant with instructor directions, and be able to focus long enough to try to write for twenty minutes. The more the student has read and loved stories, the better.
수업 자료
Students should have access to writing paper and pen for each workshop class. We want to put our inner critic away--it's too easy to erase words on the computer. Tip: have a folder on hand so you can put stories from the workshop together at the end of each day.

I've taught writing workshops for children and teens since 1992. This type of workshop format is tried and true. I consistently see student's writing improve over the course of the workshop. Kids who don't write well by hand, who don't spell--who struggle to read their own writing, much less read it out loud--are motivated with all the freedom they have to work and create exciting stories. With fun writing time--and usually that's almost all it is: time spent writing + fun--problems shake out of sentences until the child is writing fluid paragraphs and can read their work to others with confidence.
