Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 2
Beginner Level
1:1 Reading instruction/tutoring to provide instruction and guidance regarding beginning reading skills to build a solid foundation. This class will follow the science of reading research and will utilize research and evidence-based teaching techniques.

**Keep the reading skills going through the spring and summer to start fall off STRONG!

This is a tutoring class that will follow a progressive instruction of reading skills that will be based on the learner's individual needs and pace. With a 1:1 model, we will be able to progress through the phonemic awareness skills while remaining fluid based on the learner's response to instruction.

**This tutoring session format is open to:
English Language Learners
Advanced Readers that want to read at a higher-than-expected level of reading.
Students with ADHD, Dyslexia, and more.
Any age is welcome! (I was limited on the age section of this original class listing.)

The sample topics can include:
phonemic awareness for letter /m/
phonemic awareness for letter /t/
phonemic awareness for letter /a/
phonemic awareness for letter /s/

**We will continue to provide phonemic awareness for more sounds while we learn to blend and segment these sounds and letter for reading and spelling skill building.

***I teach all levels of this phonics-based reading program. If your learner is struggling to read words like, "dad," "run," "yet," and more, this class if for them. If your learner can read most of the 3-letter words but is having difficulty with the next level of reading - /ch/ "chin," or /sh/ "shop," or /th/ "these," I teach this level, too.

The teacher will monitor the student's progress directly and indirectly through parent feedback and responses.

Communication is very important to me and I always welcome messages and feedback as we partner to support your learner in phonemic awareness and mastery for reading.

Please message me if you have any questions and/or thoughts about a 1:1 session that would meet your learner's current reading needs.

I am a speech/language pathologist and special education teacher with training and experience teaching all levels of learners. I have extensive graduate and continuing education training in language and literacy along with experience in the in-person classroom and online classroom settings.

This is for students that need direct guidance and instruction.

Thank you for visiting my profile and I look forward to meeting learners soon!

Teacher Angela
