In this 8 lesson training, learners discover what it takes to be Spy Kid through S.T.E.A.M. activities (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) and good old-fashioned sleuthing. Students learn logic and critical thinking skills to heighten their power of observation, unlock lateral and critical thinking skills, decipher codes and clues, and build spy gadgets.

Each day will start with a "briefing" on the area of spy training for the day. Discussion is encouraged as "intel" is shared through slides and video clips.  Activities and "training exercises" will focus on mental and physical (at home activities) spy “training” as we dive into puzzle solving, code cracking, gadget design, and mastery of disguises. In their final test and mission, learners will test their skills in all areas of spy training in a Final Mission TREASURE HUNT (with PARENTAL AT-HOME assistance.) Succeed and earn your spy credentials and secret spy name. Fail and... well, failure is not an option! Do you have what it takes to past the ultimate spy test and earn your secret spy name? **This course is designed to inspire your camper to further exploration of the activities learned in class beyond the hour session. It can be fast paced at times, but activities that are not finished in class (like code cracking) are encouraged to be completed after camp. Additional activities will be suggested daily and posted on the class page after camp. PARENT'S PARTICIPATION is ESSENTIAL as each day there will be a set of supplies needed for the activities in the class and after. 

***IMPORTANT: When learners do not have their supplies properly PREPARED, LABELED, and ORGANIZED, it slows down the camp for everyone else, and then it can get rushed at the end to try and get all the fun material in. Preparation is easy, but must be prepared in advance. I'm a mom of four, and I remember those crazy days of trying to manage all my kids' activities, so I designed the parental prep to be simple and not be overwhelming, if you prepare in advance. It is NOT a lot of work, if you plan accordingly. And the supply list and materials are sent in advance. So don't wait until the night before to prepare or you may miss some important information. ****

*** Please note class 8 will require set up with the HANDOUTS provided before the class starts on Day 8 . If you do not have the 6 handouts for the last day, or cannot find them, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to contact me before the final day. We can always work through issues in advance, but it is heartbreaking when that one learner cannot do the full Final Mission because nothing is printed out and set up for him or her to do. I always end up making it fun for that one camper, but it can be a let down when something they've been looking forward to isn't there.
