Self-Esteem! Self-a-what? How we "SEE" ourselves is so important! Especially for students at this age. Learning how to have confidence in themselves is crucial for success in so many areas including school, sports, and relationships. In this one time class, students will learn to find value in themselves even when they fail. 

We will discuss self-esteem, and why it can be low or high.  Students will have the opportunity to list what they feel good about or bad about. We will discuss ways to have high self esteem even when we make mistakes and discuss people who failed a lot kept on trying until they succeeded such as Thomas Edison, Michael Jordan, etc Students will learn what confidence is and how to have it even when we aren't good at everything and to utilize our failures to be more resilient and determined. 

Students will learn how to have positive self talk and how to quiet the negativity in their heads. Students will also participate in a simple fun activity that will give them the opportunity to find the value in themselves that they can use any time they are feeling low self esteem.

My teaching style is interactive, fun, laid back, and structured. My goal is for students to feel comfortable sharing their ideas or asking questions. I throw a little humor in for good measure which seems to make students feel at ease as well as conducive for interaction. 
I do not discriminate on race, nationality, abilities, religion, or beliefs. Everyone is welcome to my classroom as I find it an honor to be able to offer this lesson to your child.
