Learners may be exposed to some mild swearing and bleeped foul language in the videos posted for the class. Judith's experiences were sometimes very challenging in her quest for equal protection under the law. She describes her protest experience in detail as well as her experiences in a disability segregated classroom throughout her early years. This is a middle grade and up book, and the language and experiences shared are more appropriate for that age of learner.
Resources and Activities from a Facing History and Ourselves Curriculum designed for a Community Read on "Rolling Warrior" are used in this class.

NPR and Time Magazine articles about disability issues.

YouTube Videos including TedTalks, UpWorthy profiles, a short documentary about the making of an adaptive clothing commercial, and various first person interviews with autistic people, people with Down Syndrome, activist Judith Heumann, and children with various disabilities.
