Pilates will benefit the student athlete by enhancing their core strength, flexibility, mobility, balance, stability and resilience, both in and out of their sport. Anyone recovering from most common types of injuries can participate as well*. This fun but focused class uses household items such as throw pillows and beach towels to help students grow their mind-body connection while enhancing their future performance. Pilates works the muscles often overlooked by tradition gym training...
Students will gain strength, flexibility, mobility, balance, focus and improved body awareness, posture and alignment, while learning the principles of Pilates and some anatomy along the way.
I have been studying and teaching Pilates for over 20 years and have presented mind-body workshops at conferences nationwide. I also ran my own instructor certification program. I have trained elite figure skaters and ballerinas, competitive soccer and tennis players and national level swimmers and cyclists.
Please have a throw pillow and beach towel handy, and an exercise mat if you have one. Bare feet are best.

I want everyone to have a safe and effective class experience. To that end, going forward, I am requiring all students to have their cameras on themselves at all times throughout the class. I will put any student without a camera in the waiting room. If there is an actual technical difficulty and a parent/guardian informs me of the issue, I can make an exception for that day, This is for everyone’s safety and fairness. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please let me know. We will use the terms “pelvic floor muscles” and analogies to help students access these muscles which are critical for core strength and alignment.
