このクラスで学べること

Just hearing the word anxiety is almost enough to make you start worrying about something. But, the truth is, everyone experiences some degree of anxiety and stress. There are many things that may make us feel anxious, stressed, and overwhelmed. The question isn’t do we ever feel anxious but how do we manage the anxiety that we may experience?

The brain’s response to anxiety is to put the body on high alert by sending out hormones to mobilize the body and mind for action (commonly known as the fight or flight syndrome).

When the stress is short-term, such as running to the bus to make it to school on time, your body is able to meet the demands and quickly returns to a balance point. But when the stress is chronic, your body tries to sustain the high alert status well beyond the point that is healthy.

In this class, we are going to learn strategies for managing anxiety that you can add to your toolbox. The goal is to learn how to soothe our nervous system.

Week 1- Back to the Basics: Anxiety 101 ( Neuroscience & Anxiety )
Week 2- Managing Change and how it affects Anxiety
Week 3- Sleep and Anxiety
