In this weekly, ongoing one-on-one course, learners will receive individualized writing instruction, homework help, or other tutoring needs from a credentialed English teacher. Parents should let me know what their student's learning needs are so I can prepare. One benefit with personalized tutoring is that I can tailor instruction to each student’s skill level and personal interests, making reading and writing more interactive, meaningful, and enjoyable. My teaching style is calm and supportive. As a credentialed English teacher, I can assist your student with writing essays assigned in school or provide personalized writing assignments based on their interests. I will guide them through each stage of the process, ensuring they develop strong reading and writing skills and confidence. See the learning goals for an idea of what we can work on. I have experience teaching persuasive, descriptive, narrative, and expository essays, as well as creative writing. I can help with everything from beginning paragraph writing through college and scholarship essays. Let's work together to set your student up for success!

Learning Needs
I am here for you. If you need more time, different materials... you name it -- I will do everything in my power to ensure we have a successful and impactful session that supports YOUR needs and YOUR educational goals.
Supply List
If students need assistance with existing homework, they will need to share that with me so I can help them. We may use the internet, so students should have age-appropriate access. If I am teaching my own lessons, I will do everything I can to provide the materials, but I will give parents advanced notice if there is something they need to provide.
Language of Instruction
English (Level: A1)
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Sources
If students need assistance with existing homework, they will need to share that with me so I can help them. We may use general internet searches, so have your preferred parental controls on if that is a concern. If I am teaching my own lessons, I will do everything I can to provide the materials, but I will give parents advanced notice if there is something they need to provide.

Teacher expertise and credentials
3 Degrees
Master's Degree in Psychology from Liberty University
Master's Degree in English Language and Literature from Western Governors University
Bachelor's Degree in English from San Francisco State University
Prior to becoming a credentialed English teacher, I started my own tutoring company where I worked with homeschool and public school students. We met in libraries, in student's homes, and online. I truly enjoyed this personalized style of instruction and getting to know my students. They taught me amazing things about their cultures and places they'd been.
I believe that breaking learning goals, assignments, and topics into smaller, more manageable tasks makes learning exponentially easier. I have an AA, BA, and two MA degrees - I have learned HOW to learn, and I model and use these skills with my students so they too will be lifelong learners.
