Creative Writing Private Tutoring Short Story Writing

Middle School Creative Writing Tutoring (1:1)

Students are encouraged to schedule at least 5 sessions to cover each part of short story writing (inciting incident, rising action, climax, falling action, resolution). Single sessions are great for revisions to existing stories the student has written, or to help get a student started if they prefer to work on their own. 

In this personalized tutoring class, students will explore the fundamentals of creative writing, including storytelling, character development, dialogue, and descriptive language. Sessions will cover topics such as plot structure, setting, point of view, and refining their unique writing voice.  

Each lesson is tailored to the student’s interests and skill level, starting with a brief discussion, followed by interactive exercises, guided writing exercises, and constructive feedback. My teaching style is supportive and engaging, encouraging students to take creative risks while building strong writing habits.  

Students will actively participate through discussions, writing challenges, games, and occasional slides or video clips for inspiration. They’ll receive real-time feedback and personalized guidance to strengthen their confidence and skills. Whether they love writing or need help getting started, this class provides a fun, structured space to grow as a writer!
