,Macbeth, de William Shakespeare: Curso en profundidad

Over the course of ten weeks, students will receive a thorough grounding in all of the major themes and key characters of the play. They will have many opportunities to discuss their ideas and to express them in writing. Written activities will be carefully guided so that students consistently achieve success and gain confidence and fluency.

All materials are provided as part of the enrollment fee, including a study guide with quiz questions and a detailed textbook with explanatory notes and written exercises.

Classes will be a mixture of review, aimed at embedding key facts about the play's plot, themes, characters and context, and close study of particular passages, leading to class discussion and written exercises. 

The lesson schedule is as follows:

1. Overview of the whole play. Detailed analysis of Act One Scenes Three to Four. Writing on Macbeth and Banquo.
2. Overview of Act One. Detailed analysis of Act One Scenes Five to Six. Writing on Lady Macbeth.
3. Overview of Act Two. Detailed analysis of Act Two Scene One. Writing on Macbeth and Banquo.
4. Overview of the play's context. Detailed analysis of Act Two Scene Two. Writing on the theme of guilt.
5. Overview of Act Three. Detailed analysis of Act Three Scene One. Writing on Macbeth and Banquo.
6. Overview of the play's themes. Detailed analysis of Act Three Scenes Two to Three. Writing on Macbeth and Lady Macbeth.
7. Overview of Act Four. Detailed analysis of Act Four Scene One. Writing on Macbeth.
8. Overview of the play's characters. Detailed analysis of Act Four Scenes Two to Three. Writing on the theme of evil.
9. Overview of Act Five. Detailed analysis of Act Five Scenes One to Three. Writing on Lady Macbeth.
10. Review of core knowledge. Detailed analysis of Act Five Scenes Four to Eight. Writing on Macbeth's death.
