Students will work together with the teacher to select classic literature novels to read and discuss in Socratic Seminars. The class (readings and activities) will be designed around the novels that students are interested in. The schedule will be discussed and set by the students and teacher to best meet students' needs and interests. Each week the reading schedule will be discussed and determined based on the discussion. Each novel will be stretched over a couple of weeks to determine the novel of choice and to dole out the agreed-upon pages to set up our Socratic Seminar. *** Thank you for your consideration of my class. Please note that the proficiency levels and grades that are listed in the course description are recommendations but all students are welcome! Through professional training, I have developed classes with writing, reading, and discussions that can be modified to meet each student’s individual needs. For students who are interested in Honors and Advanced Options for transcripts, please reach out as soon as possible so that we can arrange transcript details for you! *** If there are specific times that you are interested in and would like to discuss/request, please let me know! :) Some sections have chosen to read a classic novel with a modern novel when the classic novel of choice is short. Current Sections are reading: "The ABC Murders". Please check out the SUPPLIES section for the past novels we have read!
