Is your little learner ready to embark on their journey towards literacy?  Are they ready to learn the letters of the alphabet and the sounds they spell?  In this 1:1 class your learner will build a solid understanding of all the letters of the Alphabet with a "sound focused" approach - the sound the letter makes, how to identify the letter and items beginning with the letter sound as well as proper formation of the lower case letter. Your learner will also build Phonemic Awareness - a foundational skill for reading and spelling - the ability to "hear" the individual sounds in words and to blend and segment these sounds - all reading and spelling is built upon the foundation of Phonemic Awareness!   Private Preschool tutoring is great especially for shy or more reserved learners who do better in a one on one setting as opposed to a larger preschool class.  Also a great option for learners who have dyslexia/suspected dyslexia or are having trouble acquiring this foundational knowledge/skills in a traditional classroom. And finally, Private Preschool is great for Homeschool families as well!  I have been a Private Tutor for 20 years focusing on Systematic & Explicit Phonics Instruction, Early Literacy and Dyslexia/ Reading Intervention .  I am a Certified Orton-Gillingham Tutor (A-OGA) and I have received 80-hours of Structured Literacy training through the International Dyslexia Association (IDA).  I am a fun and energetic teacher who LOVES to make learning enjoyable!    I teach using an explicit, structured, sequential and multisensory approach.  If appropriate, we may move on to simple CVC words .  The pace at which we proceed will depend upon the frequency of class (2X week recommended) and how quickly your learner is able to master the skills. It is VERY IMPORTANT that your child does the Homework as research tells us that children learning the letters/sounds of the alphabet need regular, consistent practice.
