In this personalized 25 minute session, I will work with your learner to develop a fun adventure story that will help them complete actions in chores, such as cleaning their bedroom. Turning mundane tasks into fun experiences can help individuals with executive function challenges complete tasks with more regularity by increasing the dopamine response in the brain. - Students will learn how to tackle overwhelming tasks by breaking them down into smaller tasks. Students will use timers to help them take action on non-preferred tasks. Students will learn how to craft an imaginative narrative to make tasks more preferable. Teacher will model gentle accountability through body doubling.
I am an executive function coach, and as a neurodivergent individual, I personally use these tools such as timers, narrative, and body doubling to help myself accomplish important tasks.
This course is designed specifically to help students with ADHD and other executive functioning deficiencies practice skills that will help them complete important chores, such as cleaning their room, by gamifying the content.
A project/chore that the learner can complete in the twenty-five minute session.
