Experiencia de clase

  • Students will gain confidence in the kitchen by learning delicious recipes and developing their cooking and baking skills. They will also learn how to measure ingredients and put them in order of usage, mix, and bake them in a very hands-on way.
I have two degrees in culinary arts - one taken in Brazil and one in the U.S. I was born and raised in Brazil, and I have been working with culinary for 11 years.

Detalles: This class's homework will be building a portfolio of the recipes we make. After class, they must watch the class recording and take notes on the recipe's procedures. Notes include but are not limited to cooking techniques, tips, tricks, order of usage of ingredients, heat temperature, plating, etc. This homework will be suggested to all learners in every class, but they will not be checked for correctness. Learners are encouraged to share their portfolios with the rest of the class if they feel comfortable doing so.

SAFETY WARNING - Every learner MUST check in at the beginning of the class by opening their cameras to be clearly and visibly identified. Learners who do not have cameras or fail to open them to be identified will be immediately removed from the class. SEARED TUNA WITH CUCUMBER SALAD

This plate is a kind of appetizer with a fancy presentation. It is very refreshing and a great option for a summer recipe. 

 
Ingredients:
Seared tuna:
1/2 lime
2 Tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp ginger, grated 
1 tsp sesame oil
1 lb tuna steaks
TT salt and pepper
1 Tbsp Dijon mustard 
1/4 cup sesame seeds 
2 Tbsp vegetable oil

Sauce:
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup mirin
2 Tbsp light brown sugar
2 Tbsp rice vinegar
1 garlic clove, crushed
1/2 inch piece of fresh ginger, crushed

Salad:
1/2 cup sour cream
3 Tbsp rice vinegar
1 tsp granulated sugar
TT salt and pepper
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp fresh dill, chopped
1 English cucumber, not too thick
1/4 small red onion, julienne

Equipment and Utensils:

3 1/2” cookie cutter ring (for plating)
1 beautiful plate you have
Stove
Chef’s knife
Cutting board
Saucepan
2 Medium bowls
Large bowl
Small bowls for ingredients
Large pan
Tongs
Whisk
Measuring cups and spoons
Grater or Microplane
Paper towel
Los estudiantes no necesitarán utilizar ninguna aplicación o sitio web más allá de las herramientas estándar de Outschool.
This class requires the use of equipment and utensils such as a stove, oven, knives, blender, mixers, and others. Most of the recipes ask for cutting, boiling, frying, baking products, and other hazardous tasks that can lead to cuts, burns, and other kinds of injuries during their preparation. I will be teaching the safety of operating equipment and using utensils, but parental supervision and help during these tasks are required at all times. The recipes call for many ingredients, so please, check them for any food restrictions and/or potential allergens for your children. Each week I will be posting the supply list for the next class. 

Outschool does not have a tool that allows your payment to become a credit when you miss class. Due to all the costs involved in the class preparation, the fact that the class recording will be available for 90 days for learners to watch as many times as they want, and you can also ask me for a transfer for one of the available sections, I do not issue refunds or open time for makeup sections for missed classes.
