The Grouchy Ladybug is a multi-layered story that addresses different themes at the same time. The visual appeal of Eric Carle's artwork is great for describing animals. It also has the themes of dealing with bullying, comparing sizes, and telling of time.

We will use Nearpod to explore size through sorting activities. Matching games, an interactive clock, and a short video will provide the backdrop for telling time using an analog clock. We will listen to the story and reflect on how the ladybug is being a bully. 

You may choose to log in to the Nearpod app (free for students) or your learner may participate on the shared screen. There are ample opportunities for student choice in response.
