Students will need to between each class practice at home with parents and use online interactive game, worksheets, and on a real analog clock at home to help them practice and remember concepts taught. In this class, students will be learning to identify each number on a analog and digital clock, the hour hand, the minute hand, and how to tell time for each hour, half past, quarter past, and quarter to, and to the 5 minutes. Students will need to know how to count by 5's to be able to tell time to the 5 minutes. Students will learn to tell time to the minute. Here is a break down: learning the hands on the clock, telling time to the hour, 15, 30, 45 minutes. review, learning time to the 5 minute. review, learning learning to tell time to the minute This class will be hands on and students are required to have a clock they can practice on. The teacher will provide a link to a print out of empty clocks they can practice on if desired. It is recommended for parents to put these printouts in plastic sleeve and give students a dry erase marker and cloth to wipe with. Then students can write time on the clock over and over. At the end of class each week, we will be playing an interactive game on nearpod.com practicing what was learned in class that week. It is recommended that students have a separate device from the one they are in the outschool class, this way when we play the game they can see the zoom class, teachers screen, and on the other device the game. Student can play the game on the same device but it does disable the video when this is done. Instructions on how to join the game will be given in class. Parents are encouraged to sit with their children to help as needed. It is also encouraged for students to have a real analog clock in the home they can practice on. This will help reinforce the concepts learned in class.
