Nivel Beginner - Intermediate

In this class, the student will learn to tell time using an analog and digital clock. This class is also for students who need extra assistance with telling time. 

First grade students:
-The student will be instructed how to tell time to the hour and half hour. 
-The student will read the time on an analog clock and write the time on a digital clock. 
-The student will be able to read the time on a digital clock and draw the hands on the analog clock on the worksheet provided by the teacher.

Second grade students:
-The student will be instructed how to tell time to the hour, half hour, and quarter hour.
-The student will also solve problems presented on a clock and evaluate and distribute the information correctly on the worksheet provided by the teacher.

Third grade students:
-The student will be instructed how to tell time to the hour, half hour, quarter hour, and minute. 
-The student will also work word problems and use time on a number line to measure how much time has passed. 

For students who need extra assistance, instruction on telling time with the analog clock will be extensive with tips being given on how to tell time accurately. 

My teaching style is to present the information, demonstrate how to solve certain problems, then work collaboratively with the students on solving similar problems, then have the student work independently to solve the problem, while the I supervise each step. Interaction in class is constant, through discussion and problem working. It is encouraged that the student asks questions but is not necessary. The class is hands-on, auditory, and visual.

Hello! My name is Mrs. Carla, and I am always excited about teaching and cannot wait to teach your learner.  My favorite subjects, personally and to teach, are math, reading, writing, and science.

I have taught students through Outschool for the past two and a half years. For over 15 plus years I have been employed in diverse roles within the education sector. I have been a teacher, substitute teacher, instructional support, lead teacher in a childcare facility, volunteer, and tutor. I have my Associates of Science in Office Information Systems, Bachelors of Science in Psychology, and Master of Education Degree (PK-8), and I have also been fortunate to work with students who were high schoolers, special needs, and homebound.

In my class, your student will use their prior knowledge, share ideas, participate through discussion to help develop their academic and social skills. I look forward to getting to know your student and learn how they learn to better support them in their success in school.

Not only do I enjoy teaching, but I am also an entrepreneur, avid gardener, crafter, and carpenter.
