In the tutoring session, the student and I will discuss the topic they are needing assistance, and tell me what they know and what they don't know and need help on. Although I am requesting this information before the tutoring session, I would like the student to explain to me their strengths and areas needed improvement which is the area that they need assistance in. We will be working together and practice on the needed skill, and eventually have the student complete independent work. Math topics that I can tutor for is skip counting,  addition, subtraction, decomposing and composing numbers, 2D shapes and 3D shapes, data analysis (bar graphs, line graphs, etc) and fractions. We will be working on some example problems on paper and/or whiteboard.
