The students will be able to become familair with a counting chart and how it can be used to help with counting.
Lesson 2
Using pictorial models to identify the sum of a multiple of 10
The students will be able to use pictorial models to identify the sum of a multiple of 10 and a one digit number.
 Week 2
Lesson 3
Using pictorial models to solve word problems involving joining and separating
The students will be able to use pictorial models to solve word problems involving joining and separating, and comparing sets within 20 and unknowns as any one of the terms in the problem such as 2 + 4 = [ ]; 3 + [ ] = 7; and 5 = [ ] - 3.
Lesson 4
Strategies to solve Addition and Subtraction Equations
The students will be able to explain strategies used to solve addition and subtraction problems up to 20 using spoken words, objects, pictorial models, and number sentences.
 Week 3
Lesson 5
Generating and Solving Situation Problems
The students will be able to generate and solve problem situations when given a number sentence involving addition or subtraction of numbers within 20.
Lesson 6
Skip Counting
The students will be able to skip count by twos, fives, and tens to determine the total number of objects up to 120 in a set.
 Week 4
Lesson 7
Identifying a Number 10 more or 10 less of a given number
The students will be able to identify what is 10 more or 10 less of a given number utilizing a counting chart.
Lesson 8
Composing and Decomposing Numbers up to 120
The students will be able to use pictorial models to compose and decompose numbers up to 120 in more than one way as so many hundreds, so many tens, and so many ones.
 Week 5
Lesson 9
Writing Numbers in Expanded Form
The students will be able to explain a number in expanded and standard forms to represent numbers up to 120.
Lesson 10
Place Value
The students will be able to use place value and open number lines to compare whole numbers up to 120 using comparative language.
 Week 6
Lesson 11
Comparing Numbers
The students will be able to represent the comparison of two numbers to 100 using the symbols >, <, or =.

The students will be able to represent the comparison of two numbers to 100 using the symbols >, <, or =.
  • The learning goal for this course if for students to strengthen their numbers and operations and algebraic thinking skills to become better mathematicians and solve math problems with courage.

Journal, pencil. objects that can be used for addition and subtraction lessons such as small erasers, small animals, etc. A YouTube account may be needed to access videos used during sessions.
