Informal, ongoing assessment is used. Progress is noted by the progression of skills acquired.Experiencia de clase
Your child will be introduced to basic concepts that are the building blocks to learning how to read and understand language and mathematics. We will cover topics such as colors, shapes, matching, grouping, listening skills, comprehension, vocabulary expansion, numbers, letters and much more. Since your child is the only student, each session will build upon the last session as your learner gains skills and knowledge. This process called scaffolded learning assures your child will experience success with each lesson and not be kept to a predetermined set of lessons regardless of skill acquisition and readiness. Each class will start with greetings and questions to help your child feel welcomed and to build a bond between him or her and the teacher. Then a previous skill will be reviewed to set a tone of success and accomplishment. New skills that build upon learned skills will be introduced and practiced in segments, intended to help the child with focus and attention. Each class will end with a warm goodbye and review of what the child accomplished. My teaching style is informal, and I am ready and willing to adapt and change with the needs of the child. For instance, when your child feels tired or unwell, the class will be low energy and soothing with more review and less stress on new skills. When a child shows high energy, or distractibility, we may switch between activities to help hold attention. OR, we may use more movement and physical activity in this situation. I prefer the class to be very interactive! Children are encouraged to sing along, jump, hop, repeat phrase, identify objects, and more. When I learn your child's preferences, I will add more of those types of interactions. For quieter, more reserved kids, and adult may want to help them participate. A Parent or Guardian is always welcomed to accompany their little one in these classes. Children should be able to speak to fully participate in these classes. If you have a non-verbal three-year-old, please message me before enrolling, so we can determine if this class will be a fit for your child and if I can reasonably accommodate your child's learning needs.
Metas de aprendizaje

Orientación para padres
An adult is encouraged to remain near their child, especially for the first few sessions, as the young one becomes familiar with the teacher and online learning. Having you nearby will help them to become more comfortable, which will increase their ability to learn in a new situation. I encourage parent feedback as we partner to help your child become excited about learning!
