The students will be able to explain what a scientist is. The student will also understand the Science Safety rules.

Investigating Properties of Objects
The students will be able to classify objects by observable properties such as larger and smaller, heavier and lighter, shape, color, and texture.

Investigating Properties of Objects Continued
The students will be able to classify objects by observable properties such as larger and smaller, heavier and lighter, shape, color, and texture.

Investigating Energy
The students will be able to identify and discuss how different forms of energy such as light, thermal, and sound are important to everyday life.

Investigating How Objects Move
The students will be able to demonstrate and record that ways objects can move such as zigzag, straight, up and down, etc. The student will also be able to predict and describe how a magnet can be used to push or pull an object.

The students will be able to observe, compare, describe,and sort components of soil by size, texture, and color.

Detalles: The homework types will vary from journal entries, hands-on experiments with written predictions conclusions and worksheets.
Journal, pencil, acess to YouTube (may need an account),  objects that can be found at home such as a round ball, soil, water, anything magnetic, rocks (various sizes), and thermometer (if possible). 
Además del aula de Outschool, esta clase utiliza:
YoyTube will be used to demonstrate a topic such as food chains and characteristics of organisms such as animals. An account may need to be created to be able to use the app. 
We will use YouTube for lessons such as discussions about organisms (plants, animals), and animal characteristics.
