Writing Reinforcement for First Graders

In this class the students will review and develop needed skills to write different types of writing. The schedule for the class is as follows:
Day 1 Narrative writing sentences to tell a story with first, next and last.
Day 2 Opinion writing sentences to write our opinion.
Day 3 Informative writing sentences to explain.
Day 4 How-to writing sentences to write about a procedure.
Each day the student will practice brainstorming and writing a paragraph with proper sentence structure including capitalization, finger spacing, punctuation marks, as well as review of grammar and phonics skills integrated within the writing. The student will be engaged with offering ideas to the sentences we can write or subjects to write about. After writing our sentences, the students will be encouraged to read them aloud to the class to reinforce what they have written. The student should be able to write letters/words independently (with the help from the teacher on spelling) in order to be successful in this class. I look forward to working with your child.
