Beginner Level
Do you have a student that is struggling to write? Do they need help or practice on how to put a sentence or paragraph together? In this self paced class, the student will learn how to write a paragraph using a Pokemon character. First, the student will learn the parts of the paragraph so that the they understand the expectations of the assignment. I provide a printable sheet/rubric so that we have a guide throughout class. Then, the student will learn how to brainstorm a given topic. I discuss what the topic of the paragraph is for the lesson and then show thought process of how to brain storm for details. I provide a printable brainstorming map to use. Finally, the student will learn how to write the paragraph in an organized manner. I model how to take the brainstorming paper and turn it into a well thought-out, organized and meaningful paragraph. Each lesson addresses a different writing such as narrative/creative, opinion, informative and creative story telling. Throughout the class, phonics and proper sentence structure and conventions will be taught as the teacher models and writes. There are weekly videos to guide the student throughout the entire writing of the paragraph so that the student builds confidence in their writing. We practice reading our writing at the end to build fluency. Please feel free to post any work, I would love to see your student's final project!
