Welcome to my Creative Writing Series Bundle, where young writers aged 9-15 journey across multiple genres! From spine-tingling scares to heart-pounding adventures, enchanting fantasies to captivating romances, perplexing mysteries to gritty realism, each class offers a unique exploration into the diverse realms of storytelling.

I have led many successful writing classes in my career and in this class students will delve into the fundamentals of creative writing, mastering correct grammar, sentence structure, and punctuation while honing their skills in writing compelling narratives. Through engaging lessons and interactive exercises, participants will learn the art of developing vivid characters and immersive settings, essential ingredients for creating unforgettable stories.

But that's not all - our focus extends beyond mere technical proficiency. Each class is dedicated to weaving an exciting plot that hooks readers from the first line and keeps them eagerly turning pages until the very end. Whether it's sending shivers down their spines, igniting their sense of adventure, sparking romance, unraveling mysteries, or reflecting the complexities of real life, students will discover the power of storytelling to entertain and captivate.

The class time breakdown will be as follows: (all of the following will be done with my guidance and idea help)
5 minutes - introductions
5 minutes - discussion of genre
10 minutes - build their characters and setting
10 minutes - plot outline (using the plot mountain method)
20 minutes - write - focusing on beginning, middle and end
10 minutes - edit and share

Evaluation
Students can practice and finish their writing (or write another) outside of class and upload it for me to give feedback if they would like.

Learning Goals
1. Gain an understanding of the key elements and characteristics of various literary genres, including but not limited to scary stories, romance/friendship tales, adventure narratives, fantasy realms, and realistic fiction.
2. Develop skills in crafting compelling plots, building richly detailed settings, and creating authentic and relatable characters across different genres.
3. Explore the unique conventions and tropes of each genre, learning how to effectively utilize them to engage readers and evoke the desired emotional responses.
4. Experiment with different narrative styles, voices, and points of view to suit the tone and requirements of each genre.
5. Learn techniques for world-building in fantasy and science fiction, including creating unique cultures, magic systems, and fantastical elements.
6. Understand the importance of pacing, tension, and suspense in crafting thrilling stories in genres such as horror and adventure.
7. Practice incorporating themes of love, friendship, and human connection in romance and friendship stories, while maintaining authenticity and emotional depth.
8. Develop skills in descriptive writing and sensory detail to enhance reader immersion across all genres.
9. Cultivate an appreciation for the diversity and versatility of storytelling, and the ability to adapt writing style and approach to suit different genres.

Adventure
 In our adventure-themed creative writing lesson, we'll delve into the elements of captivating adventure stories. We'll explore the essence of adventure narratives, discussing their key components and what draws us to them. Through interactive sessions, we'll craft dynamic settings, intriguing characters, and gripping plots using the plot mountain model. You'll learn to infuse your writing with action, vivid figurative language, and rich details to captivate readers.

Lesson 2:
Friendship/Romance
 This lesson will focus on friendship or romance stories – my personal favorite! We'll kick off by developing a setting, breathing life into captivating characters, and then diving into the heart of our plots. 
Explore themes such as loyalty, trust, love, heartbreak, and sacrifice within the context of friendship or romance narratives, examining their significance and impact on the story.

Scary
 We'll begin by delving deep into the heart of any spooky tale: the setting. Next, we'll breathe life into our stories by building characters that leap off the page. Finally, we'll use our imaginations as we craft the spine-chilling plot that will keep readers up late into the night.

Realistic Fiction
 We'll define realistic fiction and share examples that inspire us.
