Step into the role of a world traveler in this interactive and exciting class! Using the popular GeoGuessr game, students will explore different parts of the world, develop map-reading skills, and learn to identify geographical clues like landmarks, vegetation, languages, and architectural styles. We'll dive into strategies for narrowing down locations and discuss fascinating cultural and environmental details along the way. During this class, learners will be able to pick what modes and assist the instructor in choosing which modes we play during class while going step by step with the instructor! Each class will go as follows in terms of the timeline of class: Introduction (10 min): ➔ Overview of GeoGuessr ➔ Quick tutorial on gameplay mechanics Warm-Up Round (15 min): ➔ Practice identifying major continents and regions ➔ Discuss strategies for spotting clues Themed Exploration (20 min): ➔ Focus on a specific theme (e.g., Famous Landmarks, Urban Cities, Natural Wonders) ➔ Analyze cultural, environmental, and historical contexts Group Challenge (15 min): ➔ Team-based GeoGuessr game with discussion and collaboration Wrap-Up (5 min): ➔ Review key takeaways In this class, it is very learner led, and we will be picking what modes together for each mode that we play! This class is best to be taken on a computer or tablet! ⚠️ YOU DO NOT NEED AN ACCOUNT OR PREMIUM ⚠️
