Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 7
The student will be reading the graphic novel: "Wings of Fire: The Dragonet Prophecy” by Tui T. Sutherland. There is the prophecy, prologue, part 1-3 and an epilogue in the novel. There will be an activity provided by the teacher. During week 2, the student presents their final project which represents their reading comprehension of the novel.

I will post discussion questions throughout each unit. Some of the questions will include thoughtful information from the book. Examples of some questions in the classroom could be "what does the definition of (a particular word) mean and have you ever done this?" or "which aspect of the book most caught your eye - discuss why this was." Additionally, the student will be able to discuss in the classroom about the book to reinforce their reading and understanding. There is a fun activity provided by the teacher for the learner to complete and discuss in the classroom.

Through the classroom's image posting option, the student will be able to show images of what they created for their final project. The student can use the option of uploading a short video if they are on a computer or a screenshot of their final project can be taken and uploaded to the device being used to sign in for this class.

Learning Goals

The student will be showing comprehension of their reading of the book by answering discussion questions. The student will expand their creativity as shown by their final project.
