Description

Class Experience

Students will introduce themselves when they enter the classroom. Hermit crabs live on the ocean floor. Their skin is hard, except for their abdomen which is soft. To protect their soft spot, a hermit crab borrows a shell and make this its "house." When a hermit crab is threatened, it withdraws into its shell until the danger has passed. The teacher will read the story, asking questions like who, what, where, and why during the story. After the story, the students will have time to draw a...

Students will learn that many new experiences are not to be dreaded, but really wonderful opportunities.

I have been teaching kindergarten through third grade for 13 years. I love reading and I love to instill the love of reading in young learners. I incorporate art to gain interest from the learners and also to give them a chance to show creativity.
