US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 4

I provide private one on one tutoring for pre k through 5th grade in reading. As a previous Elementary teacher, I can provide individualized instruction to your child in an area of need. When you register, parents can provide me with information pertaining to areas needed for growth in reading. The skills taught in this class can be letters sounds, learning to blend sounds into words or sounding out and learning to read.   I will cater my lesson according to your child's need. 

Reading is such an important skill that is used in so many aspects. Learning the basic skills of reading is an important foundation needed for fluency and reading comprehension. I would be happy to assist your child in meeting their reading goals! 

Sample topics and weeks: 
Week of September 13th : Reading Cvc words 
Week of September  20th : Reading and answering comprehension questions  
Week of September 27th : Learning and reading sight words in sentences. 
Week of October 4th : Reading a text and writing a summary.  

These topics can changed based on the child's needs and goals.

Hello! My name is Teacher Rachel and I am from Radford, VA of the USA. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and I have a lot of experience with kids! I have taught and tutored children of all ages for 10 years! I have also been an ESL online tutor for 3 years! I am excited to begin teaching and helping your child achieve their personal academic goals through tutoring. I tutor children 3 years of age to about 12 years old. I tutor in math , reading and writing. 

 
Each age brings a different environment to the classroom. Learning is so much fun and I want to be able to show your child how exciting it is. It is so important in the learning process to make sure your child is having fun and smiling! As a teacher, I am energetic, compassionate, patient and friendly. When I'm not teaching your lovely child, I enjoy spending my free time with my family. I have 3 girls and 2 boys. Each child is so different and brings a fun dynamic to the family. I can't wait to meet your child and start this beautiful learning journey!
