includedClass Experience
This is a watercolor painting course, where we experiment with color, lines, & our imagination by creating mini creatures , food, or people in chibi art form. Watercoloring for fun will be our central focus, & we'll learn color mixing skills & watercolor techniques along the way. Then they will learn and practice basic drawing skills with step by step instruction. Each weekly chibi theme will be announced in class as a surprise. The class structure allows the same learners to meet every week, creating a familiar and supportive environment. They will also exercise important social skills through talking about their art and taking turns. Benefits of Step by Step Instruction: - Practice following direction - Focus on details - Work with their mistakes - Create art that they will feel proud of Class structure: - Learners check in - Draw along with step by step instruction / Watercolor techniques - Learners color and add background to their drawing - Show and tell During the draw-along, learners are welcome to hold up their projects to the camera for gentle feedback.Any required experience or knowledge learners need? Beginners and those with previous experiences are welcome! No painting experience is necessary.......Really! Cameras will be asked to be on during class for attendance purposes. As you know, Outschool classes are specifically for children. Per Outschool's policy, each painter must be registered separately. Students might need to spend some time after class to complete their artwork
Learning Goals
Young artists will practice mixing colors, explore simple shapes, lines, forms, and repetitive movements. They will be able to finish a painting each week while discovering their artistic flow.

Supply List
Pencil / Pen Eraser Heavy paper, multimedia paper or watercolor paper Watercolor Palette or ... If your young learner is using tube watercolors, I highly suggest that small amounts of the paint be placed in a palette that closes. This will allow the paint to dry between uses and help to make the paint last longer. Learners are also less likely to use watercolor paint like acrylic when stored this way. The wonderful thing about watercolors is that you can reactivate any dried watercolor in/on a palette with water for use
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
