Learn how to paint a semi-realistic slice of watermelon with watercolors! You will learn several watercolor techniques such as glazing, lift and feather, and wet on wet. This course will help you become a more controlled watercolor artist and the skills you learn are applicable for any future watercolor painting you want to do! We will start class with a short introduction before diving right in! First we will outline our watermelon lightly with pencil. Next we will lay down a watercolor base layer. After, we will utilize glazing, lift and feather, and wet on wet techniques to finish our watermelon slice. At the very end, we’ll add small touch ups and black watermelon seeds! Students should have a basic grasp of how to use watercolors before taking this course but otherwise, no prior knowledge is needed! Please read the supply list carefully and have all materials ready at the start of class.
