From patron saint to conversation hearts... why in the world do we celebrate Valentine's day? In this one-time class, we'll take a deep dive into the origins of this lovely holiday. We'll work our way from the very beginning to the modern day. We will look at the person behind the name and the holiday that came from him. As we move forward in time, we will look at some of the symbolism that is seen in modern Valentine's day. It's not just chocolate goodies and lovey dovey feelings. Join us to find out how we got to the holiday we know and love.
Learning Goals
Students will understand the history of the popular holiday: Valentine's Day.
