Class Experience

You don’t start out writing good stuff. You start out writing crap and thinking it’s good stuff, and then gradually you get better at it.
That’s why I say one of the most valuable traits is persistence.”
― Octavia E. Butler
The above said quote pretty much states what our class is going be like. This class will help children to pen down their thoughts through various sessions such as The mini lesson, Independent writing time, Writing conferences, Closing and sharing time over the course of five weeks.
Week 1:
Our first session will be aimed at writing an informal letter where in the art of writing a letter will be discussed in detail. Samples of letters will be shown and a discussion will follow where in the students understand the essentials of a letter. Together we will also work towards writing a letter and those interested will be given a chance to share it in the class.
Week 2:
Next we move on to writing a story. During this session we will discussing some famous authors like J.K Rowling, Enid Blyton etc and how they have created interesting stories. Week 3:
This session will be dedicated towards descriptive writing. A product like a doll or a chocolate will be shown and kids will be encouraged to write a paragraph detailing about the product. Kids are encouraged to express themselves through writing. I will also be reading out a piece of my descriptive writing and the kids will be encouraged to guess what the product is.
