In this 1 on 1 session, we will discuss the elements of a creative story. Students will explore their own ideas and build skill and confidence as they write their own stories. In each session, we will discuss revisions to improve the story.
Class Experience
US Grade 6 - 11
This is a 50 minute 1 on 1 class intended to meet twice a week for 6 weeks. It is designed to be an environment where students in grades 6 thru 9 can feel comfortable to explore their own ideas, build skill and confidence, and create their own short story through collaboration, guidance, and encouragement.
In each session, we will discuss:
* The elements of creative writing
* Plot structure and character development
* Examples of literary devices used by other...To ensure effective tutoring, the teacher suggests meeting 2x per week. Book additional recurring meetings after the initial purchase.- Students will learn about the elements of creative writing and literary devices. They will also become familiar with several famous authors and make use of these examples to develop their own writing. Students will regularly critique their own writing and
I am a certified English teacher, teaching all forms of writing since 1994. My experience includes both basic and honors English within a classroom and in private lessons. I am also an editor who has worked with multiple authors in preparing their work for publication.
