Do you like reading and unicorns? Are you just learning how to read? This is a class for you! In this class, learners will practice their reading skills in front of the class. Blossom Cake The Unicorn uses short sentences, easy to read words, and simple concepts for learners who are excited to read on their own. Background of the book: I wrote and illustrated this book based off of my ESL learners and drawing classes. I know how much my learners like unicorns and I wanted to use that theme to make reading fun. Students will get a FREE PDF version of the story when they sign up for the class. You can practice the book before class if you would like. Break Down of This Class -Introduction Song - Pre Reading Discussion Questions - Echo Reading with the Teacher - Learners read the story - Post Reading Discussion and activities - Popcorn Reading Throughout the class, students will get to feed a unicorn as a reward for doing a good job! Non-native English speakers are also encouraged for this class because we will practice fluency and confidence! You will get a PDF version of the book but if you would like a copy to have in your home, you can find it here: https://www.amazon.com/Blossom-Cake-Unicorn-Dana-Langshaw/dp/B08MSGQWG7/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=dana+langshaw&qid=1605278623&sr=8-2

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have an extensive background and passion for teaching youth both online and in person. I have been teaching English for more than 3 years and have taught over 6,000 classes with 3,879 students. The age range of my students vary from 3 to 16 years old. I have also taught in schools as a substitute teacher for 2 years at all levels (2016, 2017) and currently work as a volunteer reading mentor with a local elementary school program. I bring enthusiasm, creativity and passion to all of the students I work with.
My art classes are designed for younger learners between the ages of 4-9 who like unicorns. Each class is designed to not only teach my student a fun drawing but to also work on life skills such as communication, listening and creative play! I bring energy and enthusiasm with every class because as an elective course, you are here to have fun!
In the summer I offer classes for pre-teens in modeling and self publishing. In 2014, I moved to New York City and pursed my love for acting and modeling. I have been a professional actor and model for 7 years, and have worked in commercials, TV/film, runway, print work and live shows! I have been lucky to work with great industry leaders that have allowed me to gain an extensive amount of knowledge and expertise in this field! As a self-published author of three books, I have a great class designed to help students who want to produce their own story.
