In this ongoing class, emerging readers will use songs, stories, games, writing, social and listening skills while building reading confidence using short vowel word families.

If your child has a strong grasp of most letter sounds and names or has started to blend words to read, then this will be a great fit to build skills and confidence on their reading journey. Students will: *learn to blend sounds together to read short vowel words *use auditory and visual discrimination to identify our word family words *practice their rhyming *practice their writing *grow in confidence and independence in relation to their reading *have fun as their reading skills develop!
For 23 years I was a 3-6 Montessori teacher and I was able to guide children from sound acquisition through Word Building and writing, and beyond. I love to integrate song, games and a bit of silliness into my classes to make learning fun. I let the children know that "mistakes are how you learn" and that they should never be afraid to try!
