Class Experience

In this one time class, students will learn about the different sleep cycles, the importance of sleep, the recommended amount of sleep needed, and how the brain functions while we sleep. We will also discuss briefly how our brain processes dreams and what significance they may have. This course is based on the psychology and science of sleep and theories or beliefs about dreams will not be incorporated. Worksheets will be provided to explain and help describe the parts of the brain in control of sleep. A powerpoint as well as lecture will be given and I ask interactive questions throughout the course to ensure the students are engaged. Minimum knowledge is necessary but I will gauge the students understanding by asking what they know about sleep and the brain.

Learning Goals

Students will be able to identify the different sleep cycles and how they relate to the brain.

I am so excited to be here and spread knowledge about a plethora of topics that I enjoy and am passionate about. Most importantly, the wellbeing and mental health of children and the upcoming generation is crucial to society and how the future will be. I take pride in educating others in a respectful, relaxing and informative matter in order to allow the student to grow at their full potential!

I received my Associates in Social Sciences as well as General Studies in the Spring of 2019. Following this I obtained my Bachelors degree in Psychology in April of 2020. I really enjoy learning as you can see  by my degrees and was able to complete all of that at the age of 20. Mindfulness and positivity are the values that back my teaching-- positive attracts positive and negative attracts negative!

I spent most days with my dog Bruiser, crocheting, listening to music, reading and whatever other adventures we find ourselves in! I look forward to meeting you in my class and getting to know a little bit about yourself as well!
