1:1 Private Psychology Class

In this ongoing one-to-one private psychology class, learners will have the freedom to explore their interests in psychology or supplement an existing psychology class with tutoring. Lessons are individualized for each learner.

Beginner - Advanced Level
CONTENT: This private psychology class can be used to explore psychology topics that are of interest to the learner, as tutoring sessions to supplement another psychology class or to prepare for an exam, or as individual tuition for any of the psychology classes I offer in group formats. Please send me a message letting me know what topic(s) your learner would like to have covered in class. For example: - a specific interest of the learner (for example: "Growth Mindset" or "Psychology of...
Learning goals will be specific to each student. This class can cover the APA National Standards for High School Psychology Curricula (revised 2022) if desired.
I have a Bachelor's in Psychology and a Master's in Education (Curriculum and Instruction) and have taught year-long high school psychology classes since 2014. I work hard to keep up with new research and developments in psychology. I attend online workshops often and I recently attended the American Psychological Association 2022 Convention on a grant from the American Psychological Foundation. I'm also a Nearpod Certified Educator.
Homework Offered
I may suggest additional materials to further the learning after class. Upon request, recommended readings and extension activities can be provided.0 hours per week outside of class

If requesting a full or partial middle school or high school level psychology course, note-taking handouts will be provided throughout the course.
This class uses Nearpod interactive slides which provide learners with the opportunity to draw and type on slides, answer polls, manipulate drag and drop slides, and more. A Nearpod link will be shared at the beginning of each class. Nearpod does not require users to make an account.
Students are encouraged to bring any of the psychology materials they are already using. If requested, the suggested readings to reinforce and build on the content, will be from the free online Psychology book from OpenStax, available here: https://openstax.org/details/books/psychology-2e If you would prefer a print version, it is available for purchase for about $30.
